Pakistan Engineering Council

The Pakistan Engineering Council (پاکستان انجینئرنگ کونسل); acronym PEC) is a professional body for delegation of engineering education and regulation of engineering profession in Pakistan. (2) (3) It was established in 1976 by the PEC act 1976. (4) (3) The council also registers masterminds and professional masterminds and subventions license to consulting and constructing/ operating engineering enterprises working in Pakistan.

Overview

 In 2011, it came a provisional member of the International Professional Mastermind (IntPE) Agreement (IPEA) and came a full member in 2018.

Pakistan Engineering Council represents the engineering community in the country and assists the Government of Pakistan at the civil and parochial situations. (3) (5) It also acts as a think tank to the government and undertakes sweats to establish scientific norms for engineering inventions and services. (3) Its headquarters is located in Islamabad and indigenous/ branch/ liaison services are located in main metropolises of Pakistan. (6) The council came a provisional member of Washington Accord in 2010 and was admitted as a full member in 2017. (7) (3)
